No surprise here. What is a surprise is the number of people talking about the insider trading allegations being the actual reason for the ban, and not national security. They’re saying Meta lobbied Congress and TikTok got banned. They’re also saying a bunch of congressional representatives bought Meta stock before the ban. That’s the real story a lot of people believe.
Could that be the real story? I think it’s closer to the truth than that song and dance about protecting National Security.
If TikTok is back online by Monday night, I’m going to believe that ultimately a backroom deal made that happen. As I mentioned in a previous post I thought that’s how this was all gonna shake out.
Now we wait and see what happens Monday night. If they’re live, they survive. If not, then they might be dark for a while, if not forever, until they divest.
Monday night I’ll know if my horse came in. I hope so. Our cat has gotten accustomed to that gourmet cat food our TikTok income has provided her. Will see…
